Investigative panel holds 1st session

An independent panel tasked with investigating the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant crisis established four specialized teams to support its activities in its first meeting Tuesday.
The Nuclear Incident Investigation and Verification Committee, headed by Yotaro Hatamura, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, also decided it would compile an interim report, possibly this year. A final report would be submitted after the nuclear crisis is brought under control.
