S.C. MOX project clears latest round of NRC inspections
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission identified no violations at the Department of Energy's mixed-oxide-fuel facility in South Carolina after a series of recent inspections, according to a report. The $4.8 million project aims to dispose of 37.5 tons of surplus plutonium by converting small amounts of the material into fuel for commercial nuclear plants.
