S.C. MOX project clears latest round of NRC inspections
The
Nuclear Regulatory Commission identified no violations at the
Department of Energy's mixed-oxide-fuel facility in South Carolina after
a series of recent inspections, according to a report. The $4.8 million
project aims to dispose of 37.5 tons of surplus plutonium by converting
small amounts of the material into fuel for commercial nuclear plants.
Inspections focused on quality assurance activities and worker and
